Ria de Aveiro is to be seen by foot, by car or on two wheels. The Ria, which extends itself as a world of different perspectives, is to be lived from sunrise to sunset. It is made for family outings and to go with friends, but is also made for travels of solitary adventurers. And if there is all to much to choose for going to, there are several alternatives to do so. The bike is surely one of them.
In the region, in Aveiro, those more into a playful ride, can rent a Buga, or "Aveiro's Free Use Bicycle '- a device that, in addition to being ecological and practical, allows city residents and tourists an easy and fun discovery tour. To find them, go to the Bugas' store, which is close to Aveiro Business Forum. You just need to leave an identification document and, after it being granted a lock with code, you are free to walk wherever you want.
The Ria area has several bike paths for the more active ones, from circuits by the water to more demanding tracks on the interior of the Ria, which are perfect for the practice of mountain biking. Some of the walking paths in the region can also be made by bike. You can also go around the whole Ria, always bearing in mind that you will often have to ride on regular roads. We suggest you do a round trip Aveiro - Estarreja - Murtosa - Torreira - San Jacinto - (ferry) - Praia da Barra - Gafanha da Nazaré - Aveiro.
