Casa de Francisco Maria de Oliveira Simões

The facade of this house, projected in 1914 by Silva Rocha, stands out for its monumentality. The entrance staircase, parallel to the elevation, forms an open porch with double arches , which corresponds to a balcony in the upper floor. Divided into three panels, this frontispiece gives greater prominence to the central one, relegating to the lateral ones the opening of triple windows on the ground floor and of double windows on the upper floor. This latter, more prominent and covered with tiles in green hues, only interrupted by a figurative panel in the area above the balcony window, vividly contrasts with the limestone flooring of the ground floor.
